Tiger Terror BACK

Granny and Grandad have had lots of holidays all over the world but their most adventurous trip was to India. They spent a few days lounging by the pool…. and their evenings haggling for things in the busy market. They went on a trip to see the Taj Mahal…and they went to see some baby elephants. But the real reason that Granny and Grandad had gone to India was to visit the jungle.

Granny and Grandad forgot that you need to keep both your eyes and ears open when you’re in the jungle. They had been so busy chatting that they hadn’t been looking where they were going and there, in front of them, were two very hungry looking tigers. Granny and Grandad climbed up the nearest tree as fast as they could. But the tigers didn’t go away. They just sat underneath the tree, licking their lips and waiting for Granny and Grandad to come down again. Oh dear! Granny and Grandad ended up sitting in the tree for three and a half hours! They were very fed up.

Granny had a look in her handbag and found two ham sandwiches that were left over from their packed lunch. Grandad wanted to eat them but Granny wouldn’t let him. She threw the sandwiches as far as she could. Grandad thought she had gone mad – but then he saw that the two tigers had gone to have a sniff at the sandwiches, which gave Granny and Grandad enough time to climb back down the tree. They ran back through the jungle with the two tigers chasing after them. Finally, they made it back safely to the hotel. Phew!
